THIRSTY THURSDAY!!!!!

Thank God it's THIRSTY THURSDAY!!! This one is much needed!!

No cohost this week. If you're interested in cohosting please email me at hopelessly_ever_after@yahoo.com. It's free and fun!!

Don't forget!! If you link up every week during the month of August you will get a free "Sip" ad space! Only one more week left!! And next week is my birthday!!!

As you all know we have been super busy these last three weeks. Mike got the Uhaul and moved almost our entire house yesterday. Luckily, I was at work so I got to skip that part. lol. Sorry babe!! Not like you read this. asshole. But that means lots of stress and therefore, lots of dranks!!

I'd like to think I made this up all by myself but I'm sure I had the influence from someone. Oh well...I'll claim it.

On the cruise ships they always have awesome deals on bottles of liquor. Unfortunately, you aren't allowed to take them back to your room until the night before the cruise is over. So...don't get yourselves excited. lol.

This cruise was no different. They sold liters for the typical price of fifths. $13.99 for a liter of Smirnoff. and Bacardi was 2 for $19.99. So, as a thank you I bought my brother and sis-in-law a bottle of Bacardi Oakheart and myself some Bacardi Torched Cherry. I hadn't had it before but figured I could figure something out.

And boy did I?!?! Super easy, as eush, and so delish...you've got to try it!!

Drunken Cherry Pop
(Git ya minds out the gutta!!)

INGREDIENTS:
1 part Torched Cherry Bacardi Rum
2 parts Coke-Cola
(Or however you want to mix it, it was a rough week...)

DONE!! Tastes just like Cherry Coke!!

Let me know what you think?!?!

Now it's your turn....go lank that drank!!

I'm baaack...but not really...

So we made it home!! Everything went great on the trip and I will be writing all about it in the next few weeks. However...I might be MIA for a little while.

If you follow me on Twitter you know that we signed on our first house just before we left to head to Florida!!! Mike and I are so excited and have been dreaming of this house since our offer got accepted. We got home at about 2am on Sunday morning and set the alarm for bright and early so we could head over and get a few things painted. Well...as you all know...excitement set in and we didn't even make it back from the paint store, Kohls, Walmart, blah, blah, blah until about 5. Yup...didn't get much done last night. lol.

Unfortunately I'm so excited to head back to school tomorrow so that means life as I know it is over. I can imagine that, for the next week at least, we will be eating, sleeping, working, and dreaming this house. Every hour possible we will be packing, unpacking, painting, the works.

So in all this rambling...my point is, I'm probably going to be missing a little in the next week. I'll try to keep you posted but...I might not be very good. lol.

So with that...I'll leave you with this...our new house!!

**Oh and one more thing...I'm getting rid of the previous button swap that I did with a few followers. If you booked through Passionfruit you're good! So...if you don't see your button on my sidebar, just go ahead and book a spot using Passionfruit. :)

Hungover?? The Party Girl will help!! (Guest Post)

Hey guys!! Unfortunately, this cruise ship is heading back to Miami. We have a "Fun Day at Sea" today so that means sun and dranks!! We'll pull in early tomorrow morning and Mike and I will start our 18 hour drive back to reality. BOOO!! But, I can't wait to tell you all about it!
I hope all you guys that tried the recipes from our link up yesterday are feeling okay today. If not, Erin, who blogs over at The Party Girl's Guide, has a few great hangover tips for you!! I'm glad I got to read this before I left because I've been using these things all week to get me through the day!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey guys, I am Erin from the little slice of the interweb known as The Party Girl's Guide. I am so very excited to be guest posting for Kristin today because she is actually my long lost soul mate.

We both live in Maryland and love to get real drunk. I mean what more could you ask for in a best friend.

We are going to go on a double date one of these days and our manfriends will think it is super weird, but they will get along great because we will make them.

I don't know exactly what will go down when we eventually meet and become real life best frands, but I do know it will involve copious amounts of alcohol and probably a severe hangover the next day.

With that in mind, and because Kristin is constantly posting dangerously strong drinks on here, I figured I would share with you some of my tried and true hangover cures.

1.) Showers. There is nothing better than a shower when you are on the struggle bus. I sometimes take up to five showers on a real rough Saturday. If you are too lazy or shaky to stand just take a bath, they are pretty delightful too. And don't forget you always have the option of the shower beer...there are worse ideas out there.

2.) If you have to work, the gas station is your friend. There is something about gas station food that always cures my blues. My go to is Gardettos snack mix and Diet Coke. I obviously do not eat the pretzels. (does anyone eat the pretzels?)

3.) Taking a walk, or any other form of exercise. I used to be real active back in my younger days and would go to the gym and sweat out my hangover. That Erin is long gone however and now the best you can expect from a hungover me is a walk. It really does help though. The fresh air does a body good.

4.) Swimming. Ever notice that you do not get hungover during a tropical/beach vacation? The sun and the water keep that hangover at bay! This may be related to why the shower is so helpful, I'm not a scientist so I don't know. I just know that laying out in the sun and swimming makes me feel like a million corona's.

5.) The movie Blue Crush. I pretty much watch this movie anytime I am severely hungover. It won't make you feel any better, it is just a thing I do. If you can't watch Blue Crush, reality TV will do.

6.) If you are not on the way to work and/or just don't like gas station food here are some other good options: pizza, Chinese food, and turkey sandwiches. It is not uncommon for me to devour all of these things when I have the wine flu.

7.) The best option is always a bloody mary. You will feel better after about two sips. Swear to baby Jesus.

Thirsty Thursday!! #15 on the 15th!!

It's my favorite day of the week!!
It's Thirsty Thursday!!
Hopelessly Ever After

Were in Grand Cayman!! This is probably going to be my favorite day of the trip. I've only been here one time before and we had so much fun!! Today, we get to swim with the stingrays!!! And then we go to this little resort called Rum Point. Umm..coincidence that it's Thirsty Thursday and I'm going to Rum Point??? I think not!!

Mike and I always book through local tour groups instead of the excursions through the cruise ship. It makes it so much more personal and we get a much better experience. Things are gonna get reeeeeal intimate between me and the stingray today. We might even just share a kiss!!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So excited to introduce you to my cohost this week!! Morgan blogs over at Believe in the Sparks. She's so freakin cute. I'm also pretty sure that we might have been separated at birth. You know how they say you have a double out there...I'm lucky enough to have found her!

Drink On This!! (Guest Post)

Today Goober and I are in Roatรกn, Honduras. If you've never been to Honduras you MUST go. It's so beautiful. Pulling into port this morning we passed by several sunken ships. It's so awesome to see. I'll make sure to post pictures when I get back!!

It's Thirsty Wednesday!! Stephanie is getting it started a little early this week. Don't forget to stop by tomorrow and link up your own recipes for Thirsty Thursday. Everyone who links up the entire month of August will get some free ad space from me!! And don't forget I won't be there tomorrow so add your links to Twitter, too, so everyone else can see them!!

** Stephanie has just changed her blog name to Be So Happy. Go check her out!! **
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey y'all, I'm Stephanie and I blog over at Drink On It. Kristin was nice enough to let me take over her blog today, so I hope I don't bore y'all!
A little about me and the blog: I am a twenty-something Missouri gal living the single life with my cute pup. I enjoy things like: cheese fries, Blake Shelton, Grey's Anatomy, all things teal, and sweet tea. Also, as I am sure you can tell from the name of my blog...I also enjoy adult beverages. ;)
Here's a face to go with the name...and my pup, of course.
Since Kristin does the Thirsty Thursday link up, I figured I'd share some of my favorite adult beverages with y'all today.
First off...my fave go to drink is mango flavored Malibu rum. I can drink this a few different ways.
1. On Ice. Not kidding, this stuff is so smooth that I can just drink it on ice.
2. Mixed with Gatorade. Any flavor will due. It will still just taste like Gatorade, but you'll feel the kick eventually. ;)
3. Mixed with Sunny Delight. Again, tastes just like Sunny D. Sometimes I'm just in the mood for Sunny D over Gatorade.
Next up is cosmopolitans. I loooove these. As a matter of fact, I am going to buy some cosmo mix today. Thanks for reminding me. ;)

My go to drink when I am out is a tequila sunrise. Soooo good! Especially when they put all the fruit in them.

And last, but certainly not least, beer. I love me some beer. Perfect for...well any day.
If you wanna know more about me...or Walter...stop on by! We'd love to have y'all and make sure you stay awhile!!

Dog Hair and Groceries!! (Guest Post)

It's Tuesday!! Today we are in Belize!!

It's our second time here and we love it!! In Belize we do the cave tubing tours. That's right friends!! We're drifting down a lazy river through dark caves!! It's so freakin awesome!! The only thing I'm missing is a drank! Oh well, we'll get that as soon as we get back on the ship.

Belize is super awesome. Belize City is a little shady in itself but on our hour long bus ride to the caves we pass through 3 different ecosystems and get to see some gorgeous sites. They also take us to a cute picnic spot to try "something that tastes like chicken". Mike won't eat it, but I'm pretty adventurous. Pretty sure it's iguana. But it's good!!

Adriana is taking over the blog today!! She's got the only grocery list you will ever need!! #1 is a definite!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey you guys! While Kristin is off having way too much fun on vaca I will be working and being jealous.

I'm Adriana and I blog over at Dog Hair Is An Accessory. I blog about all sorts of things but I am in NO capacity a "healthy blogger." Typically I blog about being super inactive, eating a whole bunch and drinking too much. BUT in order to keep up that glamourous lifstyle, I have to do something on a regular basis that I wish I never had to- go grocery shopping.

I'm so bad at it. If I don't have a list I wander around like a lost puppy and come home with items that can't be put together in ANY way to make a meal. For example, I came home after an hour and a half grocery trip and ended up with a jumbo bottle of olive oil, a dozen cookies, mushrooms, 1 bell pepper, pasta sauce (no pasta) and an ice cube tray. Hopeless, I know.

So I have decided (since I have to go grocery shopping in the next 2 days or starve) to make a universal list of things you should ALWAYS have in your fride and/or cabinets so you can be a happy camper when you get home from work.
1 wine
2 pops cereal
3 dino shaped chicken nugs
4 hummus
5 triscuts
6 mac & cheese
7 bite size snickers
8 tots
9 condiments: sauces, dressings etc
10 cheese

So why these items? You have everything covered! You have your beverages, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and desserts. I mean, if you live with anyone else then they have to figure it out for themselves but this is all a person really needs. Plus you can totally buy in bulk and only have to go shopping like 4 times a year. WIN. Also, basically no cooking involved, which is another win since my domesticity is  l a c k i n g.

So you're welcome for that and you should come visit / follow / stalk me everywhere!

Not Entirely Peeved!! (Guest Post)

It's Monday!! We boarded the ship Saturday and yesterday we had our first "Fun Day at Sea". I actually love these days because after the drive and stress of getting on the ship it's nice to relax. The luggage experience is always an interesting one because Mike and I smuggle on alcohol every time. We stress all day until our luggage arrives at our stateroom. Fingers crossed for us that we didn't have to go to "The Naughty Room" on Saturday. lol.

Today we're pulling into Cozumel. Mike and I have been here several times before. Our favorite thing to do is the Cozumel Bar Hop. You HAVE to go if you are ever here. It is so much fun and absolutely a gorgeous trip!! There is a free shot at every bar and the food is awesome!! Maybe I'll do a little post about it some time. :)

I'm so bummed because this time we couldn't get any other people to join us. We are the only cruise ship in port today so the only option we had was to try to convince people through a forum we are on. There are restrictions on where we can even post on the forum so we gave up. At the time of me writing this we still haven't decided what we are going to do. I guess it will be a surprise when we get back and I write my review!!

Stephanie from Not Entirely Perfect is taking over the blog today. She's got a few things on her mind so be prepared to burn some calories the easiest way ever...laughing!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

let's be honest here - you aren't really interested in who i am or why i'm here, are you?  nope?  i knew it.  ok then, we'll just jump right in and entertain you instead - with 8 of my pet peeves.

bike riders in the city.  (in chicago at least)  you are all horrible.  i could take an entire post on all the awful things you do, and you know what they are.  i daydream about swinging my passenger side door open when i see you coming, leading you to hit it or swerve and fall.

walking like you drive.  stopping dead in the middle of the sidewalk during rush hours to text on your phone or something as equally ridiculous is unacceptable and i will, in fact, run smack into you at full speed.  stepping two feet to the side so people can pass is not rocket science.  also, speeding up to get in front of me, then slowing down - also guaranteed to get you run into.

the umbrella song.  rhianna, um-ba-rella, is not a word.  and while we're at it, i would appreciate the entire world stop playing moves like jagger.

smacking your gum.  i cannot tell you how quickly i will smack you if you smack your gum just one more time.  it's not just loud chewing, it's that purposeful smack smack smack sound like a cow chewing cud.  you really have to try to sound that loud.

repetitive complaining.  you cannot complain about said job every. single. day.  oh you hate your job?  there's a support group for that.  it's called everyone, they meet at the bar.

nicki minaj.  yeah, i'm sure that's not even how you spell it but she's annoys me so much that i'm not even going to look it up.

lines and traffic.  i will never wait in line, for anything, and i don't understand traffic.  nothing is worth waiting in a long line for, and traffic wouldn't exist if people knew how to merge and change lanes correctly.

jay cutler.  i'm on this bandwagon too.  i don't like him.  a poll voted him the least liked player in the nfl, or maybe just quarterbacks, but either way - seriously jay, you got a lower likeabilty rating than michael vick.  how do you feel about that?  the public hates you more than a known dog murderer.

why do you look like this, all the time?  you make 8 million dollars a year to play football.  you're married to kristin cavalleri and she had your baby.  your life is not that hard, you whiny little crab pants.  go try hockey.

well i can't be the only one - what are your pet peeves?

oh and i blog at not entirely perfect.  should you care to visit, i'd love to have you.

Southern Hospitality (Guest Post)

Hi guys!! Depending on when you read this Mike and I will either be driving, sleeping, or DRANKING!! We left last night to start out 18 hour drive to Ft. Lauderdale. The cruise actually takes out of Miami but Ft. Lauderdale has a Taphouse that we love called Tap 42. It has a ton of beers and the atmosphere is AMAZEBALLS!! You have to come by if you're ever in the area.

Our plan for the evening is to hit up Happy Hour and then stay for a little of the nightlife. We booked a hotel in Ft. Lauderdale and will drive to Miami tomorrow morning. Hopefully, for our first day on the ship we won't be hungover. haha. Oh well!! I'm sure it was worth it.

Today I have a special treat for you. Chelsee at Southern Beauty Guide will be guest posting!! Chelsee was the first person EVER to link up for Thirsty Thursday!! The first time we did the linkup I went almost all day without anyone linking up. Then Chelsee came along!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello Hopelessly Ever After Readers!

My name is Chelsee and I am the creator of Southern BeautyGuide. I am so thankful to Kristin for asking me to guest post today. First, I would like to tell you a little about myself. I am a twenty something Beauty Blogger living in Georgia! At Southern Beauty Guide, one can find information about all things dealing with Beauty, Blogging, Bigs & Littles and much more.

When Kristin first approached me about writing a guest post, I will admit that my mind was pretty much in a tailspin. There are so many topics to blog about, but finding the right one is sometimes the hardest things to accomplish. After contemplating everything imaginable, I decided to write dedicated to one of the fundamental things associate with blogging.

I will admit that making blog friends is something that I never expected. I mean when I started my blogging adventure I was just moving back home after graduating college and decided to attempt blogging to escape the demise of my social life. I quickly dived into the world of blogging. I truly never expected this little adventure to turn into something like it has and for this I am grateful.

A key component of surviving “blogland” is networking. I knew this going in, however I never understood how beneficial making friends could be in “blogland,” much less life. Sometimes taking the first step is hard, especially when you are fixing to ask a larger blogger for advice. I am one that tackled starting my blog with help from no one.

image

I found that I quickly was heading towards shutting my blog down. I found that I was not posting frequently and things were just not looking up. The saying “you get out of something what you put into it” was clearly true in this case. Just as it looked like I was about to give up, I randomly met a few bloggers. We developed relationships. I know that I just about had a heart attack the first time I gave out my number to another blogger. However, this was just another step to building my network of friends.

Soon after keeping in constant contact with each other, I found that I was truly developing a friendship with all of these women. I never realized how beneficial that making these connections would be. The fact is that I realized that I did not have anything to loose and so I took a leap of faith.

Quickly I found that I was able to make some progress in “blogland.” I was able to lean on these women for support and bounce ideas off them for blog posts. By the beginning of 2013, I was headed in the right direction with my blog. I made goals for blogging in 2013 and so far I am on track to exceed them. With the help of my new blog friends, I made it through the tough times. In blogging there are some times when you get negative comments or your numbers are slipping where you ask yourself “why in the world am I wasting my time on this.” With the help of my blog friends, I was able to see that I was doing this for myself and not to please others.  In addition, they indicated that they would hate it if I shut down my blog, because they loved reading my posts.

image

Soon I found that I was able to help other bloggers. I know I never expected for them to be so sweet and helpful. Other often have negative stories they tell you about bloggers, but just put yourself out there and go for it! With experience, you gain knowledge. Now I spend large parts of my day answering emails and helping other blogs with codes and blog designs. You see I picked up some knowledge and had pre-existing knowledge that I was able to use to help others out in their time of need. Regardless if you are struggling with html codes, blog design, or you just need someone to lean on during the hard times I recommend you making blog friends. If you asked me just a year ago if I would be planning to meet up with some of these bloggers and would have gained so many genuine friends through blogging, I would have probably told you to have your head examined.

However, it is true I have made some amazing friends throughout the past year that I am hoping I will get to meet at upcoming conferences. Having Vblates, Video Blog Dates, have helped put faces with the blog, but I must admit that it will be nice to meet some of these women in person! So if not for their advice, tips, and help you will receive, do it for yourself. Make sure that you consistently put yourself out there, meet some new bloggers, and make some new friends. I promise you that they will help you more than you could ever imagine! I mean you will definitely find one that you can at least share some laughs with..I know that I have!

Thanks so much to Kristin for having me here today! I hope that you all have an amazing day!
