High Five!! It's Friday!!

Thank God it's Friday!! Next week starts our big testing month and it's going to be super hectic so I can't make any promises about how posting, but I'll do my best! But I'm so flipping happy it's Friday right now!

If you didn't stop by for Thursty Thursday yesterday head on over and check it out. We had so many friends link up and all these drinks....and boozy cupcakes, too!!!......look so delicious! But, the ladies at The Sequin Notebook kicked it out of the park with this one.....

favorite cocktail cupcake.
Yup, you read that correctly. Cocktail cupcake!! I saw so many yesterday but this one had me super hype!! It uses Fireball. Yes, Fireball. YUMM!! Thanks to Honey and Vanilla Beans for linking it up!!

favorite ecard.

Vodka makes me happy.

favorite pin.

Spray paint is cheap!! Need I say more??

favorite workout.

This looks right up my alley. Most of these treadmill workouts have you running as fast as my legs will take me and I just can't function with that. It's a little bit of fear that I might trip and fall and a lot a bit lack of breath.

#ThurstyThursday: {Spiked} Raspberry Lemonade Sweet Tea

First things first, I'm the realist let me announce the winner of the Flex Watches giveaway!! Congrats to Nadine Mathews!! Congrats Nadine!! And...since I'm awesome like that. I chose another winner, too!! Congrats to Jessica Hamilton!! I'm sending you your email now!!

Now...on to the real stuff. The alcohol!! Yum Yum!!

This is a little play on the Arnold Palmer-anian that Mike and I make a lot in the summertime. We usually make it by the gallon and just keep it in our fridge. This will definitely be the newest one we do. Recently we found some Simply Lemonade in a raspberry flavor and I got this amazing idea!

{Spiked} Raspberry Lemonade Sweet Tea
Ingredients:
• empty half gallon jug
• 1 fifth of sweet tea vodka
• Gold Peak Raspberry Sweet Tea
• Simply Lemonade Raspberry Lemonade

Fill the jug up about halfway with vodka. (I like it strong!) Then put in equal parts of lemonade and sweet tea. Keep that bad boy in the fridge and pour to your heart's content!!

Now it's your turn!! Let me see those dranks!!

Hashtag Humpday

If you didn't enter the Flex Watches giveaway you missed out. I have the winner and I will announce it tomorrow for Thursty Thursday. Don't forget Thursty Thursday is tomorrow. It's important. We all need good drinks in our lives. Tune in. #shamelessplug #thurstythursday #drinksmakemehappy

As much as I hate the snow, I have to admit the snow days last week were really nice. This week sucks. I think I got a little to used to being home and even though I didn't do anything worthwhile it was nice not to have to wake up to an alarm. I need to go back to those no snow snow days we had about a month ago. #nosnowsnowday #ineedsummer #effthesnow

I'm having shopping withdrawal. I need new clothes so bad. My closet is full of lounge gear and stuff that doesn't fit me. My problem is that when I buy things I have buyers guilt and I usually end up taking them back. Especially if I think even remotely that it costs more than I should pay. And then there's websites like Groopdealz and Jane.com where everything is so cheap, but you can't tell if the clothes are too or not. And...I hate taking the chance. Anyone wanna send me some free clothes??? #helpmeimpoor #buyallthethings

Two weeks ago we had my father in law walk our dog for us while we were away for the night. I've been asking Mike for the last 2 weeks to go get the key from him. I've already been locked out of the house twice because he forgets I don't have a key. Last night when I came home from work and the gym I was locked out again. Mike was in Baltimore at the Terps game so, needless to say, I was pissed. I was tired and hungry and the last thing I wanted to do was make the 20 minute drive back to town to get this key. But...no other choice, so I went. He will pay with vodka. #willworkforvodka #men #lockeddown #bfeprobs

If you didn't see I posted this DIY on Monday. I posted the picture a couple of weeks back and I had a lot of requests for the directions. It's super easy and I'm so proud of myself. You should make one too and show me how great it turned out. #anothershamelessplug #imcraftyyeahimcraft #tothetuneofimdifferent

Recipe: The Perfect Turkey Burger

It took Mike and I a long time to try out turkey burgers. We actually started with a chicken burger and, I'll be honest, that was just plain nasty....so we were a little skeptical. But, thanks to Anne Burrell and a few other recipes, we were able to put together a concoction that turned out to be delicious!

The Perfect Turkey Burger
Ingredients:
• 1 lb. ground turkey
• 1/4 large red onion
• 2 tbsp minced garlic
• 2 tbsp cilantro, chopped
• 1 tbsp sriracha
• 2 slices pepper jack cheese
• salt and pepper

Saute onions and garlic. Mix all ingredients together and form patties. Grill until just before desired firmness. Add cheese and cook just long enough to melt. Garnish with whatever you like. We like red onion, lettuce, and some raspberry chipotle mayo (raspberry chipotle sauce mixed with mayo and a quick shot of sriracha.

Enjoy!!

DIY: Tribal Chevron Canvas

First off, don't forget the Flex Watches giveaway!! It's over tomorrow!

Sorry I didn't post about this last week like I said I was going to. Those snow days made me super lazy and I pretty much did nothing other than go to the gym. And sleep. Mostly sleep. :) But, I'm posting about it now, so we're good.

This was super easy to do. I was a little nervous about being able to make the lines and not having paint get under the tape, but it actually worked out really well.

You're going to need:
• a canvas ( You can get them from Michael's, Wal-Mart, Hobby Lobby, etc.)
• acrylic paints of your choice
• masking tape
• large craft brush or small foam "brush"

OK, start off by taping off the canvas. I made vertical strips evenly across the canvas. Then I started by taping off every 2 inches and creating the chevron. Don't do that. just eyeball it. It was way too complicated and that's the part that looks a little too diagonal on the one side. Once I started just eyeballing it it seemed a little easier to get even. And...it's DIY so you want it to have a little character.

Then the fun begins, make yourself a little paint pallet with your acrylic paints and then take your brush and start making wisps of color all over the canvas. Be careful not to press too hard because it might pull up the tape. I just did a few light wisps all over the place. Don't be afraid to mix a few colors and all that jazz.

When the paint dries, pull off the tape. And voila!! You're left with a gorgeous, homemade canvas!!

#ThurstyThursday: Beer-ry Vodka Spritzer

Cheers!! It's Thursty Thursday!!

I have to admit, I can't take full credit for this drink. This past weekend we stayed in Ocean City with two other couples to celebrate Valentine's Day. One of the chicks suggested Happy Hour in her room before dinner and she made this awesome drink. I knew right away I had to share it for #ThurstyThursday. Plus, the two ladies just found out about this blog so...what better way to keep them reading than to mention them first thing in my #ThurstyThursday blog post, right?!? Hey Steph and Kristin!! Now I just hope they're reading. haha.

This is such a refreshing drink. Again, perfect for a summer party!! And, this recipe makes a whole pitcher, so...it's pretty cheap, too, considering.

Beer-ry Vodka Spritzer
Ingredients:
• 3 light beers (I used Corona, Steph used Coors...both good)
• 1 cup vodka
• 1/2 can (or more) limeade from concentrate
• frozen mixed berries (however much you want. I did maybe a cup.)

Put vodka, limeade, and berries into blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into pitcher. Add beers. Stir slowly. Enjoy!!

Giveaway: Let me see you FLEX

Ever heard of Flex Watches before?? No?? Well, you are certainly in for a treat!

Flex Watches is a company that was started one goal in mind, "to make a difference in people's lives". They are based out of San Diego, California and was created by two young men looking to make a change. During their first campaign they were able to raise enough profit to provide 15,000 meals for children in need in Mexico. By providing these breakfasts, students get the opportunity to be more focused and able to concentrate on their studies.

Flex Watches made their big debut in 2011 on The Real World San Diego.  I remember watching that episode and vividly thinking about how awesome it was that 2 young men started this business to benefit charities all over. During this episode, the cast of The Real World happen to run into Trevor and Travis at a local bar. Throughout their chat Nate, one of the cast members, decided it would be a great idea to create a watch that would benefit The Living Memoir, a charity he created that focuses on the awareness of suicide and suicide prevention. And from there, Flex Watches took off.

From that moment on I have followed Flex Watches and seen the company grow into the awesome charity that it is today. Most recently, Trevor was on The Millionaire Matchmaker and I decided to check out their website since I hadn't been on recently. One of the first things I noticed was an opportunity for Campus Reps, a chance for high school and college students to help spread the word about Flex Watches, their premise, and any happenings with the company. Immediately, of course, I thought of this blog and how I would love to take the opportunity to do the same.

Not only do Flex Watches take the opportunity to give back, but their product is awesome. All watches are silicone and most have interchangeable faces so you can mix and match for your outfits!! And, a ton of celebrities have gotten in on this action, too. Most recently, David Cruz from The Millionaire Matchmaker has helped to create a collection called Let's Just Love, and Tyga helped collaborate for the Last Kings collection.

My favorite is the new Venice collection. They come in 5 awesome colors and look so sleek on your wrist. It doesn't matter whether or not you're a man or a woman, they look awesome!! The black one will be my next purchase. For sure.

And, as a special treat for you, Flex Watches was generous enough to send me a watch for you! So enter below and be sure to stop by their page and check this awesome company out!! It's your choice. Whoever wins can choose between the White Classic or the Pink Venice!! See you tomorrow for Thursty Thursday!!

Friday...I love you.

favorite cocktail.
I couldn't pic just one of these this week, so I added all the links from Thursty Thursday.

There were so many awesome ideas there was no way I was going to choose. Definitely take the time to check these out. They all look amazing!!

favorite treat.

OK, ok. So I chose my own on this one. But I just had to share it with you. These vodka infused chocolate covered strawberries are seriously the best thing ever. You don't taste the vodka, which could be a little dangerous, and they're super simple to make.

favorite recipe.

Doesn't this Chicken Alfredo Pizza look amazing? I think I'm gaining weight just thinking about it, but I can't resist. Might have to make this tomorrow night for dinner. I'm drooling as I write this. Mmmmm.

favorite etsy shop.

I found this one a few months back but have been really thinking about purchasing one of these awesome prints from EatSayLove etsy shop. I'm always looking for clever things to hang or frame for my desk or bookshelf. I'm loving all of her clever quotes.

favorite diy.

I got my DIY done!! I'll put the directions on the blog next week but this was so super simple and took my only like an hour. You can see it's not exactly perfect, but that's what I like about DIY projects. It adds a little character for me. I'm super excited for how this turned out.

Happy Friday and have a great Valentine's Day weekend!!

#ThurstyThursday: Bedroom Action - V-Day Edition

Happy #ThurstyThursday!!

Errybody knows this weekend is the big V-day!! So ladies, I have something special for you today. We all know we might not "give it up" every single time our men want it. But Valentine's Day and maybe their birthday is the one exception. We all like a little bedroom action on V-Day. So today, I have something special for every part of your down and dirty V-Day "festivities". Enjoy!

The "Foreplay"

Who doesn't love chocolate covered strawberries? Especially on Valentine's Day. But these, have a little something extra to get you "in the mood".

Vodka Infused Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Ingredients:
• vodka
• chocolate
• strawberries

Soak strawberries in vodka at least overnight. Dry off on a paper towel. Temper chocolate over a double-boiler. Coat strawberries with chocolate and lay on wax paper. Put in fridge for at least 30 minutes so chocolate can set. When set, pull strawberries out of the fridge, slowly put one to your mouth and bite seductively in front of your lover. Then feed one to him.

The "Do"

We all know what happens after foreplay. The loooove-making. So here's your main event for the evening.

Strawberry Champagne Margarita
Ingredients:
• 1 cup sweetened strawberries, hulled
• 3/4 cup tequila
• 3/4 cup champagne
• 1/4 cup lime juice
• 1/4 cup triple sec

Let strawberries soak in sugar overnight. Puree strawberries. Add tequila, champagne, lime juice, and triple sec to strawberries. Stir or shake to combine. Pour over ice.

"The Clean-up"

It's inevitable and no one likes to talk about it. But after "the do" is "the clean-up". Or the cigarette, and then the clean-up. In my case, I don't smoke, so....this is the equivalent for me. I nice, strong shot.

The Clean-up
Ingredients:
1 shot Absolut Citron
1 shot triple sec
couple squirts lime juice
enough grenadine to add color

Add all ingredients to shaker. Add ice. Shake well. Pour into shot glasses.

eShakti Clothing Review

A few months ago I was contacted by the ladies at eShakti.com to see if I would do a review of one of their pieces of clothing. eShakti is a clothing website that creates custom pieces just for you. And...since I have such a hard time finding things that fit me, I figured, hell yeah!

They have THE CUTEST clothes on their website, especially if you're into vintage fashion. Super adorable dresses along with skirts and tops that are to die for. No matter what they occasion they will have something for you. From cute sundresses to wedding wear eShakti has it.

And...they fit everything exactly to your body. For every order, you have to take a variety of measurements so they can be sure your garment fits exactly as you wanted it. They even show you how to take each measurement so you don't make any mistakes.

They also customize according to your preferences. For example, like that black tank above? Want it long sleeved? They'll do it! Is the skirt on that dress you love a little too long? They'll make it shorter. Or vice versa. And do you prefer a sweetheart neck as opposed to that v-neck they're showing? You got it! They're that versatile!

As far as my experience went, I can't complain. My first choice was a cute fitted blue dress that I had wanted to wear to a friend's wedding. Unfortunately, when it came, it did not fit at all. I was a little skeptical to order a dress to begin with, however, because my body is so inconsistent. I have huge hips and a tiny waist, long legs and a small chest, so....not very conducive to fitting into dresses. They were super cool about it, though, and only asked for a picture of the dress and for me to send them my other selection.

So, for my next selection I decided to go with something I knew I could wear to work, and would probably have a better chance of fitting. And this is what I ended up with!

The skirt fits awesome. And...it has pockets!! It's a little snug on me (hence the reason it's a little high), but that is entirely my fault. For skirts you chose a size and then have some other measurements to take. I went for the smaller of the two larges, so it was my fault. And, truthfully, I'm happy about the fact that it's a little small since I'm working on my fitness right now.

Overall my experience with eShakti was great. They worked wonderfully with me and even dealt with my long waits in between orders. (I'm really indecisive.) They were very prompt with their exchange and did a great job of making sure everything I wanted was included.

Make sure when you order, however, that you are very specific in what you are asking for. Take your measurements correctly, and make sure you read everything on the page. Don't assume a skirt is a certain length, read through to make sure you are understanding the length shown. Then you'll get exactly the product you want!

And...styles go quickly, so head on over and check them out!!
You even get a $40 gift coupon for registering!!

I received this skirt complimentary in return for my honest review of eShakti.com. All comments and opinions are my own.

Recipe: Skinny Chicken and Broccoli Casserole

While Mike was gone last week I decided to try out this recipe. He's not big on casseroles, and truthfully neither am I, but this one wasn't bad. If you're similar to us and would rather have something a little less one note, I still wouldn't shy away from this. Just make another side, probably something crunchy would be best. But this casserole was really good so you should definitely try it.

And, it's a Skinny Mom recipe, so it's actually not bad for you. A cup of this without the topping is only 305 calories. The original recipe called for saltines as the topping but I used a little something different to add some more flavor. And let me tell you...it was divine!! It is super cheesy and creamy. I have to say I used the large shredded cheese, so that might have something to do with how cheesy it was, but it was really good!!

Skinny Chicken and Broccoli Casserole
Ingredients:
• 1 lb chicken breast, diced
• 14 oz. frozen broccoli
•10.75 oz. can reduced fat cream of mushroom soup
• 2 tbsp light mayo
• 1/2 cup reduced fat shredded cheese
• 1/2 cup crumbled White Cheddar Cheez-Its
• salt and pepper

Preheat oven to 350º and prepare a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray. Spray a skillet with cooking spray and cook salt and peppered chicken over medium high heat until there is no pink in the center. In a large bowl mix soup, mayo, frozen broccoli, and shredded cheese. Add chicken to bowl and mix well. Pour mixture into baking dish and sprinkle with Cheez-Its. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Enjoy!

What's your favorite skinny recipe?

It's Friday!! I made it!!!

It's Friday!! I made it all week without the boy toy!! Hopefully he'll be at home naked in the shower waiting for me when I get there this afternoon. Then he's home for the weekend but leaves me again on Monday. Oh well. I can manage. Plus, I haven't finished the stuff on my list yet.

Here are a few of my favorite things for the week!! But let me mention that it's Friday, Sweats Day, and Goodie Day all rolled into one at work today. Best. Day. Ever.

favorite freebie.

I found this freebie while searching through Pinterest. I think I'm going to change the colors of my dining room to something like this. White and dark brown/black with gold accents. And I thought with this, since my computer can't print metallic, maybe I would take some metallic paint and just paint over the gold accented parts. Then put it in a white or gold frame?? What do you think??

favorite cocktail.

Krystal at Creatively Dysfunctional posted this to the Thursty Thursday linkup yesterday. It looks Ah-mazing and I can't wait to give it a try. I have my own version of the Dirty Shirley called the Slutty Temple, but this one looks so much better!! YUMMMMM!!

favorite shot.

I couldn't forgot this beauty from Jess at Livin' on Sweet Tea. She linked up this green tea shot recipe, too. And, from the sound of it, their pretty leathal! Definitely pinning it for my list of things to try! I'm thinking making of making a big batch and doing pitchers of shots?!

If you haven't stopped by the Thursty Thursday linkup be sure to check it out. We do it every Thursday and all you have to do is add a cocktail recipe, or wine or beer review to your post and come on over and link it up! I posted a Bourbon Slush recipe yesterday that you have to try. If this sounds appealing to you and you'd like to co-host one week, shoot me an email at: hopelesslyeverafter@gmail.com

favorite recipe.

Mike LOVES Red Velvet Cake and last Valentine's Day I made him some Red Velvet Cake Cookies. This year, since we're trying to eat a little healthier, I thought this recipe from Skinny Mom would be PERFECT!! It's only 150 calories in 3 cupcakes!! I mean hell, with that kinda info I could eat 6 and still not feel guilty!!

favorite video.

And for Fan Friday....now, I must preface this by explaining something. I love me some Danny C, but stop it. Just stop it right now.

I can't....
Hope you all have a great Friday and an even better weekend!!!

#ThurstyThursday: Bourbon Slush

Boy are you in for a treat this week!! Well...I mean let's be honest, you're in for a treat every Thursday, but...this week is special. I saw this recipe last week on one of the many episodes of The Kitchen that I have recorded and it looked so easy I knew it was my next Thursty Thursday recipe. And...since Mike left me, he can't say anything about it!! Whoop Whoop!!

This was so simple and truthfully there are like no ingredients involved. It would be perfect for a summer party to keep in a container in a cooler and do work!! Gee...I'm having a lot of those "summer" recipes lately, aren't I? Hmmm maybe I NEED SUMMER!!!!!!

Bourbon Slush
 Ingredients:
4 cups strong brewed tea
24 oz. lemonade concentrate, thawed
12 oz. orange juice concentrate, thawed
3 cups bourbon

Mix all together in large pitcher or bowl. Freeze for 8 hours. Stir. Freeze for at least another 2 hours. Enjoy!!

My co-host this week is the lovely Lisa from Showered with Design!! Isn't she gorgeous? That hottie beside her is her new hubby. They just got married this summer and you have to go check out all the details. GORGEOUS!! Lisa has an Etsy shop also called Showered with Design. #HashtagHumpday

It's #HumpDAAAAYYY!!

So today we have a half day. Remember half days when we were younger? You got to go home and chill and play all afternoon?? Yeah, not so much when you're the teacher. I guess teachers no longer get the actual half days. I know they used to because both my parents were teachers and they always got to come home with us. Now we have conferences, inservices, etc. #boring #humpdayhalfday #idontwannagrowup

Mike has officially been gone from me for 3 days now. I'm managing, although I got pissed when he sent me pictures of his beer flight and the awesome bar he went to for dinner last night. Stupid punk. As I sat at home and ate week old leftover chicken pot pie minis. Nights are awfully cold though since we turn off the heat to keep the cost down. #helpmeimpoor #singlereadytomingle #errmaybenot

One plus about Mike being away is that I have bribed all my friends and my mother to take care of me. :) Mom's taking me to dinner tonight and tomorrow night my neighbor and I are headed to sushi. And truth....I headed to Chipotle on Monday night for some take out. haha. So maybe I don't have a right to complain about Mike's turkey club and beer flight. But still.... #sushiismyfav #happydance

I've been super pretty productive so far this week, too!! I've done a load of laundry, started a DIY project, and picked up the house. Someone mentioned after this post yesterday how nice it is when you can pick up the house and (since Goober isn't here) it stays that way for a few days!! It's so true. Although, I do plan on leaving my shit out all over the bathroom counter. What's the point of putting it away?!?! Matter of fact, I have no intentions of making the bed either!!  #thatdoesnthappenanyway #letsbehonest #ineedamaid

The Thursty Thursday linkup is tomorrow and I started on my drink already. It had to "freeze" overnight. *hint hint* And I'm super super excited about it. I can't wait to try it. It uses an alcohol I don't drink a lot of but I think it's going to be delicious!! And...if you tune in....you can totally use it for a great summer picnic drank!!! #ThurstyThursday #shamelessplug

It's my Momma's Birthday!!! If you see her... you know, if it happens to be that you follow my blog AND know my mom at the same time.....wish her a Happy Birthday!!! #partylikeit #imstillmakingherpaytonightthough
