Weekend Shenanignas and a giveaway!!

This weekend was freaking awesome!! My bestie's birthday was at the beginning of the month but she has been underway and wasn't home to celebrate. So, her sister and I went to Va Beach this weekend to surprise her!!

Her boyfriend did an awesome job! He just told her they were going out to dinner and then invited some friends from Va Beach to meet them there. We were behind the friends. She was super surprised. Here, I'll show you!! Hope it works.

We had a great weekend. Spent lots of time together. Drank. Ate. Drank. Drank. lol. But it was so much fun!!

1. Sister and I waiting patiently for the bestie to show up at the restaurant. I was shaking and anxious. Sooo excited!! We had wanted to post updates or text her all day but we refrained and it turned out to be a huge surprise!!

2. Besties boy toy, bestie, sister, and I at dinner. Dinner was so good!! Mussels for the appetizer and a burger topped with crabcake for dinner. And, it came with hush puppies!! My favorite. So good. Waterman's in Va Beach.

3. It was so warm we were ale to sit outside and play cards. Until it started raining. Boo!!

4. This is the calm before the storm. haha. We were all pretty trashed by this point. It got crazy after that. haha.

5. This is only one page of the beer list at the restaurant we went to Saturday night. OMG!! There was so much beer there!! They had my favorite, Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat. Then I tried Goose Island Sofie and Breckenridge Vanilla Porter. Both divine.

And as I promised, here's the giveaway going on!!

I can't get enough!!

For those of you that don't know, Mike and I are tv addicts. Every night that Mike is off is spent catching up on our shows. It's turned into one of our favorite things to do together. How often do couples get to cuddle up and have quality time together? I guess we figure we better get it in before we have kids and our time is taken up dealing with them.

Right now, however, we have soooo many tv shows in season. And, there are so many it's kind of annoying. haha. You see I like to go to bed fairly early on the week nights. Any time after 9 and it's up in the air whether or not my eyes are willing to stay open.

But, I always like to know who is watching the same stuff I am so I figured why not talk about my favorite shows playing right now!!

#1. Homeland - Can someone say mindf*#&! Ummm...I honestly can say that I don't know what the hail is going through this writers mind. I mean....there are times when watching this that I can honestly say I might be a terrorist if I was in the shoes of Nicholas Brody. Even though he's not. And...talk about blindsided. However, I have to admit, it's kinda hard to watch Claire Danes in her completely mental state throughout the whole hour. Like I might be under the impression that she is actually, in real life, like fo shizzle insane. Diagnosed, medicated, straight issues insane. But it's totally worth it and it's fo sho my number uno.

#2. Top Gear - No not the British kind, the American kind. For real, if you haven't seen this, watch it. It's hilarious. These guys crack me up every single week. I could care less about the cars, but I wish these were like legit my friends. Rutledge is my absolute fav. He so cute in his plaid flannels and glasses. And they do the funniest ish ever. Like the episode where they had to make an amphibious car (one that drives on land and in water).

#3. The Walking Dead - I know, I know. It's the cool thing to watch, but Mike and I were Walking Dead fans waaaaay before it was trendy. I have to say that this season, they way they are breaking up the episodes between The Governor and the jail, is kind of interesting. I'm not sure I can say that I like it, but it's definitely interesting to hear the back story and what's been going down since the end of last season. The Walking Dead is also awesome because it's never out of season for long!! But that damn Carl better start listening!!

And that bad ass Daryl. God I hope when the zombie apocalypse actually happens I find someone as awesome as him.

#4. Eastbound and Down - Another freakin hilarious show. If you havenever seen anything with Danny Mcbride in it, you're missing out. Pineapple Express. and This is the End are probably my favorites. And now, after a very long hiatus Eastbound and Down is back!! So excited! The stuff that happens on this show is just absolutely ridiculous. And the fact that his wife on the show, Katy Mixon, used to date Bobby Deen just cracks me up. And my all time favorite line from any tv show to ever appear on this earth...

#6. Boardwalk Empire - Although there isn't much to get into the season. Same old same old. It's during the Prohibition and all the gangsters are shipping their booze and heroin. Mike loves history so he's more into this than I am. I fall asleep during most of them but only because they're usually the last ones we watch. It's probably the best show about history I've ever seen though. Plus I'm a boozehound so.....boooooooze!!

We are also watching American Horror Story Coven and I have to admit I watch Teen Mom 3 and Beyond Scared Straight, but these are my favs.

What are you watching??

New Blog!! and Weekend Shenannies

Truth. I'm fat and lazy. OK, maybe not fat, but bigger than I want to be and bigger than I have ever been. So I'm doing something about it....again...

Most of you guys know I was doing really well at the beginning of the year. Unfortunately, I broke my foot in July and that stopped me dead in my tracks. I was stuck in a huge boot for 3 weeks and couldn't go to the gym. Then, when we moved, we actually moved 20 minutes away from the gym. So, it's not on my way home or 7 minutes away anymore. However, all these are excuses. The real reason is that I'm just too lazy and I love to eat. I loooooove food. I like trying new things, I love the taste, I love cooking, I love everything about food.

So in order to get my ass in check I started a new blog. Don't worry, Hopelessly Ever After will still be here. You guys have been awesome for me!! And I hope you'll stop by the new blog Fittin' It In and follow to help keep me motivated.

I really am determined this time. Over the past few months I've felt really crappy about my weight. I can never find anything that looks nice because the rolls are always there. I figure if I have a blog dedicated to me getting in check I'll actually do it.

OK enough of my filthyness...here are the Weekend Shenannies!!

Friday was pretty awesome. Mike worked so I stayed in made some hot cocoa, got comfy, and read "The Fault in Our Stars" for a while. Don't tell me what happens, I'm not done. So far I'm in love with this book. Too cute for these two love birds, even though there's cancer involved. I'm just to the part where they had dinner in Amsterdam. Can't wait to read some more!! Don't worry, I'm pretty sure I've already heard what happens at the end. But I actually like books like that. Something unpredicted.

Saturday I went to the gym!!! Yayeah!! I'm still really congested so the elliptical kinda kicked my ass but I went!! And I ran!! And then worked out a little but with arms while Mike finished up his squats.
Then, we came home and cleaned the house for company. UFC was on Saturday and the card was awesome. Go GSP, although everyone is complaining that he shouldn't have won. Guess Hendricks shouldn't have left it in the judges hands. Dana was pissed, but here's an awesome shot of GSP's face. haha.

Mike and I are also bug Chael Sonnen fans. He's hilarious and the fact that he was fighting Rashad was even better. I used to hate Rashad, mainly because we love Rampage and so when they were coaches together on TUF I felt like Rashad was a total puss puss. I've since calmed down and actually like him now so that fight was awesome. I could have gone either way.

Sunday was a bust. lol. Mike and I slept way too late and then the Ravens game was suspended due to bad weather. While we were waiting I accidentally deleted a ton of pics from my phone. I got all freaked out because Google+ backed up my photos but I thought that meant everyone could see them on Google+ and truthfully, you don't want to see some of those pics!! lol. There are no nasty ones, don't worry, but there are some pics of me in my "draws" from the pics I took when I was working out before. And then, when I went to go check out some recipes from this blog all of my pictures were deleted from here too!!!!!! OMG!!! I freaked the frick out! But, somehow I got it figured out. It was something I had messed with with Google+ during my freak out about the backup. Whatevs. And the Ravens lost.

But it was gorgeous outside, so that made it all better. Kinda.

Go check out the new blog!!

Thoughts?

Just a new layout. Let me know what you think!! I'll probably be playing around with it for a while. lol.

Just so I can have more than one post this week...

So I've been MIA but get over it!!

Truth is I've felt like absolute poop all week. I stayed home from work for 2 days. 2 DAYS!! I never stay home sick for more than a day. It's just too much hassle with making sub plans and expecting the substitute to actually follow them. AND be able to even work a computer seeing as how I teach technology. You would think, when you see a position open for a Computer Literacy position, you would know that means you have to be able to use a computer. I mean Computer Literacy actually means being able to use a computer. But nope. I still get a bunch of fools. This time wasn't that bad, however, my office folk did forget to print out my current plans and instead gave the sub my plans from 2 years ago. lol. Oh well. Luckily it's pretty much the same schedule.

I have a confession. Being sick, it was kinda nice not to have to worry about Thirsty Thursday yesterday. Especially because I wasn't even able to drink this week. Believe me, Mike wanted me to try. It just wasn't happening. Between the razor blades in my throat and the snot machine in my nose I just wasn't up for it. But...I'm not going to let that sink in, because we will be back!!

OK, I know short but sweet. lol. Hopefully next week I'll be a better blog friend.

Weekend Shenaniblech....

I was sick as a dog yesterday. Boo!! It started on Friday night. We had made plans to go to sushi which I was super excited about bc I could litereally eat sushi every single day and we hardly go. I'm not sure why. The place that we go is super cheap and sooooo good!! They have BOGO rolls every day of the week. Mike and I got crab rangoon wontons, siamese spring rolls, and 4 specialty sushi rolls, plus a drink for $45. I know, right?!? And everything is soo good. MMmmmm. I want some right now. Right MEOW!!

But I could tell on the way home I was starting to feel pretty crappy. Actually, let's be honest, I felt so crappy I took it upon myself to fall asleep on Mike's shoulder. haha. I kinda felt bad for the other chick in the car, but I felt like poop.

Saturday wasn't much better, but we did decide to wake up early and head to a new IMAX in Wilmington to see Thor. If you follow on Instagram or Twitter you might have seen this pic. Mike and I usually pregame before heading to the movies, or anywhere for that matter. So, naturally, my body was ready for a beer before heading out. Only problem was that this time we left early in the morning so it was only 8:45am. You should have seen Mike's face when I told him I was thinking about having a beer. I felt like an 8 yr. old child and daddy was disappointed in me. Oops.

Despite me not feeling great we still had a really good time. We explored down by the Riverfront where there was a little walking trail that was lined with handmade bird feeders. These bird feeders were amazing. Each one was crafted after a real place. They were awesome. The walk was beautiful. We managed to find a little coffee place in a market and got ourselves some coffee for the walk back. It was really a wonderful morning. And Thor was awesome.

Oh!! And I almost forgot!! When we were standing in line waiting for the movies to open all these runners started running by. Apparently there was some kind of 5k or something going on and it ran right by us. It was actually pretty cool and very motivating. I have wanted to run a 5k for forever but after I broke my foot I stopped running. I was almost there, too!! Guess I'll have to start again!

Sunday when I woke up I was feeling horrible. Pretty sure a little fairy or something decided to take a razor blade to my throat. I literally laid in bed all day until the Ravens game at 1. Then I managed to pull myself up to go lay on the couch. Mike put on some ham and cabbage to boil for dinner. OMG. Perfect meal when you're not feeling well. Everything tasted so good and there's nothing like some good old comfort food when you feel like 'ish.

Overall, considering how awful I felt, it was a pretty good weekend. It always sucks when your sick on the weekends, though, because it feels like you don't get a break before the new work week.

Oh well, maybe next weekend.

Thirsty Thursday...and some news.

It's Thirsty Thursday!! My favorite day of the week!!

This week, however, I have some news. It probably won't be a shocker to many of you. It's been slow going for a while now. But...Thirsty Thursday is taking a break. Truth is it's waaaayyy to hard to come up with drinks every week only to have a few people link up. And I feel kinda bad for my cohosts because it's not giving their blog much exposure, either. I know most of them cohost just because they think it's fun, but truthfully, it kinda takes all the fun out of it when there really aren't many drinks to look at.

Have no fear! We will be back. And when we start again we will be new and improved. I want to revamp things a little and rethink the linkup. So keep those dranks in mind so you can link up when we come back!!! For the time being, thanks so much to those that link up on a regular basis. You guys are the reason I kept this going for so long after things started getting slow. I hope you'll stick with me when start the link up again!

But...as for this week we are still on! Brandi is helping me cohost again this week!! She's awesome. Brandi blogs over at Realities of Brandi. Be sure to check her out. She's one of my favorite blog BFF's and she's super cute!!

And for this week's drank...I actually have 2, but one's kind of a cheat.

You may have seen this pic from Monday's post about Boordy Vineyard. That day we all shared a bottle of their Viva Sangria. This wine is AMAZEBALLS!! And all you need to do to serve at a party of whatever is cut up some fruit and put it in a pitcher with ice. Add a little bit of brandy and it makes it even better!!

So that was the cheater, but this one is a real drank!! And it's delish!!
Of course it's a vodka drank. (Whenever I say vodka drink it reminds me of that Chumbawamba song, "I drink a whiskey drink, I drink a vodka drink...") This one...

OK, anyway...I've kinda done one a lot like this before, but this one is a little different. DELISH!!

Spiked Strawberry Lemonade

INGREDIENTS:
2 oz. Strawberry vodka
4 oz. lemonade
the rest White Monster Energy Drink

DIRECTIONS:
Mix the vodka and lemonade. Shake, shake, shake. Add Monster. Drank!!

*As usual measurements are not anywhere near close. You know how to mix a drank. So...do it!!!!*

Your turn!! Go link up!!!

Taste of Tuesday Wednesday Fall Fancy!

There's something about stuffing and apples that just reminds me of fall. So, I figured this would be good to link up with The Fall Fancy Follower Fest and Taste of Tuesday this week (even though I'm a day late)!!

I have to tell you I can't take credit for this. Mike actually surprised me with this meal last week. He was super excited about it and wouldn't tell me what he was doing.

Not sure if I've mentioned it before, but Mike is actually an awesome cook. He really does most of the cooking lately. With my work schedule it's just easier for him to start on dinner while I'm driving home so we can get finished and cleaned up and then relax together.

On this night I was super thankful for him cooking such a nice meal. This year is really taxing. There really isn't a day that I feel like goes smoothly. We've had so many changes in our school with administration and then our Assistant Principal had some health problems and has been in the hospital for 2 weeks. Unfortunately he won't be returning this year so we are also getting a new interim Assistant Principal. Not like all of this really affects my particular day but it's just exhausting. Plus we have a really tough schedule this year and I feel like the students are as well behaved as last year.

Anywhooooo...enough of my complaining. Here's the recipe.

Pork Chops with Stuffing and Apples

INGREDIENTS:
1 pkg. Stove Top Stuffing
1 can (21 oz.) apple pie filling
1 1/2 lbs. boneless pork chops

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 375º. Prepare stuffing as directed. Spray 13x9 in baking dish with cooking spray. Spread pie filling onto bottom of dish. Place pork chops on top of apples and then top with stuffing. Cover with foil. Bake for 30 minutes and then uncover. Bake an additional 10 minutes.

EAT IT!!

Yum, so good!! Let me know if you try this. I actually liked the leftovers better this time!!

Boordy Vineyards - Maryland

If you live in the Baltimore area and have never been to Boordy you are really missing out. My friend's birthday was this weekend and her request was a girls trip to Boordy. I had been one time before and absolutely loved it. It's one of the most gorgeous vineyards I've ever been to in the hills and fields of Maryland. You would never guess that 10 minutes up the road was the city of Towson.

Every Sunday at Boordy there is an event called Soups in the Cellar. They give you wine tasting mixed with different soups that are meant to compliment the flavor of the wine. Unfortunately, that was sold out for when we were there but it's definitely incentive to head back another Sunday. It was held up in the top of the barn and it was absolutely gorgeous. We asked if they held wedding there and they surprisingly don't. Apparently they get too much business as it is.

After sampling a few wines we decided to buy a bottle of the VivaSangria and sit out on the patio. We drank our wine and cut up for a while and then headed inside again to drink some more wine. lol.

We decided to go on the tour, which ended up to be the best idea ever because the tour guide gave the responsibility of filling up glasses to our friend. lol. Whoop Whoop!! Needless to say there wasn't much wine for anyone else. haha. It was only small samples, but a bunch of small samples equals a full glass in my case. lol. FREE WINE!!

The whole day was perfect and I was so happy my friend suggested this idea. I can't wait to go back. I forgot how beautiful it was out there.

And, if you're in the area, check it out!! Sooooo pretty!!

Are you kidding me?!?!

Second post of the day, because I feel it's necessary...

So this is going to be a rant that some of you will not like. But...you're also probably the people who are annoying the shiz out of me right now...so, get over it or leave. My blog, my thoughts, my words, BOOM.

What the hell is America coming to?? Some of the things I see in the news these days is just absurd!! Are we seriously that racist that we complain about every little thing being racist? Because, honestly, if you're complaining about the things that you're complaining about...you're racist. You're trying to say they're racist, but............nope. They're just having fun.

For example:

Julianne Hough wanted to dress up like "Crazy Eyes" for Halloween. Who wouldn't?? Crazy Eyes is the most hilarious character off of Orange is the New Black. She's awesome!! So what if I want to dress up like her for Halloween?? OOpps, nope, I'm white. Can't do it! Because apparently, if I paint my face black to look like an awesome character from an amazing tv show, I'm racist.

I can't believe she apologized for it!! I would have told everyone to suck it! If I want to dress up like someone I think is awesome, I can!! And, if I want to buy black face paint to make myself look even more like her, I WILL!! It's Halloween people!!!

Then, this morning I read this article. Short story, Hallmark made a ugly christmas sweater ornament. On it it says, "Don we now our FUN apparel". Racist. Right?!? Because we changed the word "gay" to "fun" to portray the hilariousness in wearing an ugly christmas sweater. NO!! It's not freakin' racist!! Are you kidding me?? Nowadays, if you had an ugly Christmas sweater ornament that said, "Don we now our GAY apparel" THAT would actually seem more racist. I'm pretty sure Hallmark didn't have a sit down to discuss how they could take out the word "gay" and replace it with "fun". Pretty sure "Don we now our FUN apparel" is something you or I would say, without even thinking twice, during an Ugly Sweater Christmas party. BECAUSE IT MAKES SENSE!!
I personally could give a shiz less if you decide to love someone of the opposite sex or your own. Finding someone who is your soulmate, someone who cares for you more than you care for yourself is a gift these days. Who cares whether it's a boy or girl?!?! Hell, there are people who fall in love with cars!! Who are we to judge?

OK, so that's all I'm going to get into today because I can feel myself getting worked up even more. haha. Yup...even more. Sorry not sorry if I offended anyone. AND there is absolutely no coffee in this school today, which might be the reason I got so worked up in the first place. SOMEONE GET ME SOME DAMN COFFEE!!

Have a Fabulous Friday!! :)

Halloween Hangover - Photo Dump

Ugh....I'm exhausted and I feel like I've been hit by a bus. Too much excitement!! The day after Halloween and the day after Superbowl should both be non-work days!!

Last night was a total success. We have a total of 4 pieces of candy leftover!! Soooo much better than last year. We literally got more kids in our first bunch of children then the entire Halloween last year. lol. I can't wait until next year!!

The kiddies came over last night to show us their costumes and then trick-or-treat in our neighborhood. I was so jealous that they got to take a sneak peek into everyone's houses. It's something I've been wanting to do so badly since we moved in. Yes, I'm a window stalker. If you have your lights on and your curtains open, I'm looking!! I honestly think it comes from my love of interior decoration. haha. I don't want to see what you're doing, I just want to see what your house looks like!!

Mommy also came over and helped me pass out candy because Mike had to go into work. She also brought pizza which, come on, is always a plus!! We had a lot of fun.

Here are some pics from the evening!! How was your Halloween?!?!

Pumpkin Pancakes for breakfast!!

Bat Dog!!

Well hello there, handsome!

Had to taste test the candy...of course.

The frog prince...and mom.

My little witch.

Happy Halloween!!!
