Recipe: Beef and Broccoli...Yum!!

So Mike and I have been trying a bunch of new recipes out and we're always suckers for some Chiiiineeeeese!! When I came across this one last week on Pinterest I knew it was a go and she did not disappoint!! Yes, it's a she. She tastes gooooooood!!

Beef with Broccoli
over white rice
Sorry this is a bad pic....again...
INGREDIENTS:
For the beef:
2 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp water
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 lb. boneless round steak cut into small slivers or strips
2 tbsp vegetable oil

For the rest:
1 tbsp vegetable oil
a few bunches of broccoli
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp ground ginger

DIRECTIONS:
Steam broccoli in microwave for a few minutes or saute' until tender.

In a bowl, combine cornstarch, water, and garlic powder for the beef. Stir until smooth. Add beef strips into the mixture and coat the beef with it. Stir fry beef in vegetable oil in wok or non-stick skillet until it's done enough for your liking. Remove and keep warm.

Stir fry broccoli in remaining vegetable oil for about 3-4 minutes. While it's cooking combine cornstarch, water, soy sauce, brown sugar, and ground ginger until smooth. Add beef back to pan when broccoli is done. Add cornstarch mixture and let cook for about 3 more minutes stirring through.

Serve over white rice!!

YUM!!!

  6. Ha, I love that she is a she! This looks delicious and I am not a huge Chinese food fan but I just started really enjoying broccoli. I am going to have to get some organic beef and broccoli and try this out tonight. I will have to let you know how it turns out. Thanks so much for sharing Kristen!
