Just A Little Hiatus...

Hey guys! So as you might know I have the next 2 weeks off for Holiday Break. I wanted to take that time to really relax and enjoy my family time. Which, I have decided, means no blogging.

I might jump on here a few times and I'll prob post a recipe next week but...truth be told...sometimes blogging is something that stresses me out. I love to do it and enjoy it so much, but when I don't have anything to write about I worry about not posting anything to the blog.

So for the next few weeks I'm going to really take my break as time to relax and hang out with the fam and friends without anything hanging over my head. I'll probably jump on here a few times, like I said, but I'll be back in the new year!!

Don't forget no Thursty Thursday for this week and next. If you end up writing a post anyway, just save it for the 8th!

Enjoy your holiday and RELAX!

Thursty Thursday Cocktail Linkup: Rudolph's Tipsy Spritzer

It's Thursday!!! Are you Thursty yet?!?! God knows I am! This week has been brutal!! Just a quick announcement....next Thursday there will be no Thursty Thursday. I figure everyone will be busy, and so will I so....

I have to admit that I slacked off a little this week. I didn't end up making this drink, but I know for sure it's going to be delicious when I take a big old gulp of it tomorrow night. And...it will be much needed so I'm sure that will add to the deliciousness.

I'm pretty sure my entire Christmas break is going to be made up of drinks. 2 weeks seems like a ton of time and I know it is, but I'm also pretty sure it's going to go by really fast. If it's anything like this week, however, it's going to seem like 2 months!! I definitely need some down time and time to relax, so I'm really looking forward to it.

Anyway...here's the drink of the week!! I found it here and it looks divine!!

RUDOLPH'S TIPSY SPRITZER
• 5 cups orange juice
• 2 cups cold Sprite
• 1.5 cups vodka
• 1/2 cup maraschino cherry juice
•1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

Stir ingredients together in a large pitcher. Serve over ice. Eat, drink, and be merry!!

I don't have a cohost this week but I would like to wish you all a
Merry Christmas!!! Happy Kwanzaa!! Happy Hanukah!!

Christmas is in the Air: A Foodie's Christmas

First off, don't forget to join us tomorrow for Thursty Thursday!! I have a mean cocktail that will leave you cold in the heart! lol. Confused?? Don't forget to stop by!!

This week on the Christmas is in the Air linkup the theme is A Foodie's Christmas. We usually get stuck bringing the same thing, either macaroni and cheese or corn pudding, every year. I have to admit I have tried a few recipes throughout the years and let's just say they were less than successful.

This year we are doing Christmas Eve with Mike's family at our house. Christmas Eve is usually an entire day dedicated to appetizers and then we try to stuff in dinner and dessert at the end of the night. But only because that's what you're supposed to do.

I've been search around Pinterest for some new apps I can make this year. Hopefully they turn out great and I can add them into my growing list of go to recipes. :)

What are you favorite Christmas appetizers?!?

Head on over and linkup for Christmas is in the Air!!

Ridiculously Neccesary Holiday Gifts for Men

I'm not sure this post really needs much of an introduction. Your man needs these things. Buy him them. It will make you both happy.

So...I'm pretty sure my husband could get use out of all of these and none of them are that expensive. You're welcome ladies....you're welcome!!

This one is clearly my favorite.
What's your favorite?!?

Thursty Thursday Cocktail Linkup

It's Thursty Thursday!!! For anyone new this is a cocktail, beer, or wine linkup. All you have to do is either post a recipe of your favorite cocktail or the name of your favorite beer or wine and tell me a little bit about it. I do love my dranks and am always looking for something new. So...I invented this linkup party to have a few new suggestions and see what everyone else likes to sip on!!

My drink this week is holiday themed. I hope to do holiday themed drinks every week this month to help get me in the holiday spirit!! I found it on Pinterest....of course...and it looked super easy and delicious. The write of the blog mentioned that her family makes it every year and it wouldn't be a complete Christmas without it so I figured it must be delicious and it did not disappoint!!

You may need to go to the store for some of the ingredients but it's totally worth it. She recommends making it in large doses...like in a pitcher...but since it's the middle of the week and I have been tired enough I just made myself one little drink. And since I'm too lazy to come up with my own name I'm going to steal hers.

Christmas Punch

Christmas Punch
• 3 parts cranberry juice
• 3 parts Sprite
• 1 part Limeade concentrate, thawed
• vodka
lime for garnish

Stir all ingredients together. Add ice and garnish with lime. Enjoy!

My cohost this week is Emily from Martinis and Bikinis blog! I'm super excited to have her cohost with me. If you're ever in the market for a new recipe you have to check out her page. I'm pretty sure I'm going to leave Mike and go live with her so I can eat all of her delicious food. Be sure to check out her Tuesday Recipe Swap linkup on Tuesday's. Even if you don't have a recipe to link up you have to stop by just to check out everyone else's recipes. I find myself pinning almost every one!! Everyone say hello to Emily!!

Christmas is in the Air - Holiday Movies

One of the best things about the holidays are the Holiday Movies. This week on the Christmas is in the Air linkup the theme is Holiday Movies so I get to talk about my faves!!

Actually, I'm currently taking a break from decorating my house for Christmas, so this is perfect!! It's going to totally get me even more in the Christmas spirit, which I might need right now because I'm so not motivated to finish.

I wouldn't say that I have a favorite holiday movie, but I have a few that I love to watch every year.

Let's start with the staple in our house...this is one that we turn on every tv in our house and it runs for 24 hours straight. It's actually a tradition that my husband started and I can't say I'm always a big fan. Mainly because I can recite the entire thing in my sleep.

Drumroll please..........

That's right....A Christmas Story. And this is my favorite scene of course!! Why?? Because it's hilarious and has probably caused a ton of people to check to see if it really works. Like this brilliant woman right here...

#RHOOC

**********************************************

Another favorite Christmas movie of mine just has to do with my childhood. Every Christmas Eve my family would sit together in their jammies and listen to Liam Neeson read this story to us. Every time I hear Santa speak I get chills even now. And...when it came out in movie form...and 3D at that...I was stoked. That's right ladies and ladies.....The Polar Express!!

I forced Mike to buy this for me in 3D last year so we could watch it from the comforts of our own home. I have to admit, however, that we have never officially gotten arpund to it. But this year it's on. First night of Winter Break I'm loading on the vodka and dragging Mike upstairs to the theater to get some Polar Express on.

**********************************************

And last, but certainly not least is an old favorite that I only seem to see on tv during the holidays. Which is probably typical so I'm not sure why I mentioned it. haha. But it's a chick flick feel good movie and one that you can't pass up when you're flipping through the channels during this time of year. Love Actually. And this is one of my most favorite scenes. What can I say...I'm a sucker for love.

And I totally just fucking realized that's Rick Grimes. Walking Dead betches!! WTH? Ok so I love this movie even more now. And he looks so hot in this movie!! Now I'm totally On Demanding this 'ish and watching it tonight. Sorry Mike. :) Love You!!

So that's my list. Of course you can check out last years list for the classics because there are so many more Christmas movies that I love. But I figured I would add a few more this year. Well...besides A Christmas Story but honestly. How can I leave that out when I know it by heart. lol.

If you want to link up next week the theme is A Foodies Christmas so come and link up all your favorite holiday recipes!!! Hey if you want you can make them drank recipes and do a double link up for Thursty Thursday, too.

Christmas is in the Air - Stocking Stuffers!!

So I'm super excited that Chelsee and Christine have decided to do the Christmas is in the Air linkup again. This linkup totally got me in the Christmas spirit last year and so I'm hype to do it again!!

This week's topic is "Holiday Gift Guide" and it's perfect!! I'm so OCD about my Christmas presents that I create a Pinterest board for my family and Secret Santas. Hey...don't hate, appreciate, and copy my style! It gets you exactly what you want and you can link right to the sites that hold your favorite items. Kinda like a Christmas gift registry if you will.

The only problem is that I can't always find links to my stocking stuffers. Stocking stuffers are probably my favorite gifts of all time, but I hate it when I don't necessarily get stuff that I would use. It's all awesome stuff, but I would rather just give my mom a list of stuff that I could actually use. And...since this is something Mom can print out and take with her to the store, I'm golden!!

1. Melatonin - I take Melatonin almost every night on the weekends. I have a horrible time staying asleep at night and on the weekends I want nothing more then to sleep in. My body, however, disagrees and I tend to wake up early and can't fall back asleep. Not with Melatonin!! Plus, it also helps with hangovers. :) You can find this at Walmart, Mom!!

2. Covergirl Foundation (shade: classic ivory) - I'm almost out and God knows I need this for my dark circles. Plus, I hate spending money on makeup so this is a great way for me to stock up.

3. External Battery Charger - This is perfect for everyone on your stocking stuffer list. You charge her up and put it in your purse. Then, pull it out anytime you're in a bind with no way to charge your cell!! Perfect for power outages, or people who just never seem to have their phone charged, like me. :) I found this one for cheap on Amazon and it comes in a bunch of different colors!!

4. SOCKS!! - For some reason every time I wear boots my big toe puts a hole in my socks. WTH?? My toenails are cut so the only thing I can think of is my big arsh feet that cause this. So, I can always use cute socks to cover my cold feet in the winter. :)

5. Covergirl Lash Blast Mascara (waterproof, color: black) - Yet another bit of makeup I hate to spend money on but always wear. I love this. Chelsee actually introduced it to me last year and I have worn it ever since.

6. Amazon Kindle Gift Card - I mean let's be honest. Everyone could use this. It's so easy and convenient to order books right from your kindle. But...it's also way toooooooo easy and convenient and sometimes, when my hubby finds out how many I have ordered, it's a little costly. Plus, with Book Club and everything it's perfect!!

7. Fashion Rings - The only ring I ever wear anymore is my wedding band. I always love, however, all these cute little rings I see all over Groopdealz and Instagram. I found these at Kohls (here and here) and they are super cute!!

8. Hot Cocoa Kcups - Who doesn't love a nice hot cup of cocoa on a cold snowy day?? If it's you, you're not human. Swiss Miss is my fav but someone bought me a pack of Dunkin Donuts ones last year and they are AMAZEBALLS!! Either way I would be happy.

So there's my Holiday Gift Guide. Head on over and link up!!

Thirsty Thursday - Christmas Edition!!

I'm so excited for this!! It's Thirsty Thursday and we're doing a Christmas version!! I can't wait to see what you all have linked up because my Christmas Party is tomorrow!! Just a reminder this linkup is a little different from normal. We have changed it to include anything that would be used to entertaining. You can link up a drank, a tablescape, some apps, etc.

Hopelessly Ever After

I'm going to linkup a few dranks since that was the original reason for me starting this linkup in the first place, but check out the post from yesterday for some other ideas for a Christmas Party of your own!!

One of my favorite dranks for Christmas is sooo delish. Especially this brand. It's warm and cozy and perfect for a night spent with the people you love and Christmas lights!!!

Boordy Vineyards Spiced Wassail

If you've never heard of wassail it's a spiced wine that you drink warm. In order to heat it up the easy way you can fill a crockpot with water and just put it on high. Then, place your wine bottles in the water. That should warm it to the right temp for sipping!!

My aunt is actually the one who came up with the next drank. It's a holiday favorite with a twist!!

Fire Noggin

On Thanksgiving my brother brought Fireball and Angry Orchard to make some Angry Balls. My aunt, who always likes to partake in some wine or whiskey spiked eggnog decided to pour some of the Fireball into her eggnog. Apparently the result was AMAZEBALLS!! I don't care for eggnog but I wanted to share if for those who do!!

Now it's your turn!! Scroll down and link up your Christmas party ideas!!

Christmas is in the Air - Food Edition

First off, before I forget....don't forget tomorrow is the first Thirsty Thursday linkup since we gave it a break about a month ago!! Tomorrow is the Christmas Edition. Remember Thirsty Thursday is a little different now. You post can be anything related to entertaining at all!! It doesn't have to be dranks, although you know I'm always ready to find a new one of those. lol. You can link up a tablescape, some appetizers (if you do the Christmas is in the Air linkup you could just link that up with Thirsty Thursday, too!!), decorations, music, etc. The possibilities are endless!! Can't wait to see what you have in store!!

Chelsee and Christine have been doing this Christmas is in the Air linkup. Today is the "Food Edition" where you can link up recipes or ideas for others. I love this idea because we are having out Christmas Party on Friday and I'm always looking for new things to try. I'm also super excited because this year my husband and I are hosting Christmas Eve!!

Christmas Eve is HUGE with his family. Even moreso than Christmas Day. Which actually works out perfectly because my family usually has a big Christmas Day. Christmas Ever consists of a day full of appetizers, dranks, dinner, cards, movies, and more dranks. I'm super excited this year!!

Which brings me to my part of the Christmas Eve menu!! Let's start with the appetizers.

I found this Spinach and Red Pepper Dip recipe through Martinis and Bikinis blog during the Taste of Tuesday linkup with Ashley and Jess. I can't wait to try it!!

I think we decided we're doing a ton of dips this year and Mike's parents always want me to make my famous buffalo chicken dip. OK, so it's not really mine. I found the recipe on the Red Hot website years ago, but it's so delish and so easy!! I use real chicken and just shred it, though. Oh!! And I serve mine with Fritos scoops.....sooooooooooo good.

Of course, we're doing some cheese and crackers and I think Mike's mom is going to bring some shrimp.....mmmmmmmm, shrimp........maybe we'll make some meatballs. It should be a wonderful, fattening day!!

Then, for dinner, the MIL and I are going to try our hand at a Lobster Mac and Cheese. I found this recipe from good ole' Ina at The Food network and it looks pretty each and delish so I think it's the one we will try. The MIL is super awesome in the kitchen so I'm sure there will be some additions. I'll be sure to try to post the recipe after Christmas.

I also am making my all-time favorite CornPudding. I had never heard of this until i met Mike. Now it's a staple at both of our family dinners. This is Paula Deen's recipe and it's exactly how I make it. MMMmmmmm so good!!

Ok I think I'm going to have to stop. I'm starving now and I can't wait until Christmas Eve!! Can't wait to see all of your recipes!!

Don't forget about Thirsty Thursday tomorrow!!

Linking up for Christmas is in the Air!!

Taste of Tuesday - Stuffed Dates

No, no, no....not like "blind date" dates. No one is dying here. I mean like "date" the fruit. I know, you're thinking to yourself...blech...but, these dates are reaaaaaalllly good!! I promise.

This is something that my mom and I would make every year for Christmas. It was usually my job, which is ok with me because I LERV peanut butter. So, needless to say, the same amount of peanut butter that went into these dates, probably went into my mouth. :)

And, these are a great little pop of sweetness. You can't eat too many, because the peanut butter sticks to the roof of your mouth so it helps with portion control, too!! Unlike those dangerous oatmeal or candy cane cookies. MMmmmmm. I could eat those for dinner.

Anyway, here's the recipe. Super easy. There aren't any exact measurements because it depends on your preference, so.....just make them!!

Peanut Butter Stuffed Dates

INGREDIENTS:
1 pkg pitted dates
creamy peanut butter
1 cupish sugar

DIRECTIONS:
Super easy. These dates should almost be split down one side. If it's not split the entire way just run your finger down the split to open them up. I open them all first, it makes the process a little less sticky.

Then, just take a knife and fill each with your desired amount of peanut butter. After filling, roll stuffed dates in some sugar.

DONE!!

So super easy. I made them last night and it took me less than a half hour from beginning to end.

Option #2: My mom also fills some of hers with walnuts. I don't particularly like nuts twss but if I did I would definitely do both. A little peanut butter and then a walnut. I'm sure the possibilities of what you can put in these are endless.

And trust me guys, they aren't bad. I promise!!

Oh!! And don't forget Thirsty Thursday is back this week! Come on and link up!! Here are the deets!! And here is the $175 giveaway link, too!!

Linking up for Taste of Tuesday!!

It's Thursday and I have an announcement!!!

It's Thursday and it's coming back!! Thirsty Thursday that is!! Next week will be the first week back. And...like I said it's going to be a little different this time around. Starting off we're only going to do it once a month. The last Thursday of every month is when we are going to celebrate!!! (except this month because I wanted to get some ideas out for Christmas!!) Then, if things pick up a little more we will add on another week and so on.

It's also going to be a little different because this time I'm not requiring it to be a drank. It can be a drank, an appetizer, an entree, a playlist, all of that!!...anything that has to do with entertaining. It's so hard to find a new drink every week so I figured we could add in a lot more. Plus I love new ideas for entertaining and I can always use something I don't have to search Pinterest for!!

I also want to start a theme. So, the week before Thirsty Thursday I'll announce the theme for the next week. If that gets to be too much, though, I'm changing it. lol. Just a heads up. (sorry I'm lazier these days.)

So......next week's theme....of course....is Christmas!!! Show me a table setting, a drank, a food, your favorite Chistmas songs....you name it!! Just make it something I might be able to use at my Christmas party!!

I'm also still looking for cohosts!! If you're interested in cohosting let me know! hopelessly_ever_after@yahoo.com

I wanted to change the button for next week. It will typically stay the same, but a special occasion calls for a special button!

Cant wait to see what you have for me!!!

Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal...

So I've said this before, but Christmas isn't exactly my favorite holiday. There really isn't one reason why, just seems like a lot of stress for 2 days. I, personally, like the family time more than the presents. Of course, getting new things is awesome and all, but the food and mostly the dranks are really my favorite part of Christmas.

But today, I'd like to talk about holiday movies. Chelsee and Christine are doing an awesome linkup called Christmas is in the Air. Last week we shared our Holiday Gift Guide, and there is a different topic for the next 2 weeks, too. Check out their blogs to get the deets.

I wouldn't say I had a favorite holiday movie, but we have a few that are on repeat throughout the entire Christmas season. They're all your old favorites. Well...kinda.

The first one stays on a loop from the moment it comes on Christmas Eve night through the entire marathon ending Christmas night. I can recite the entire thing in my sleep.

A CHRISTMAS STORY

Now, this is more a Mike thing that one that I actually like. Truthfully, I usually dread when it comes on because I know it's the only thing I'm going to be watching for the next 24 hours. When I said i can recite it in my sleep I'm not lying. I dream it, and usually find myself involved in A Christmas Story in my dreams.

Home Alone...
allllll of them..

Who can go through the Christmas season without watching these?? I mean truthfully it's unAmerican. Pretty sure I've seen them so much I feel like Kevin is a part of my family. I wish i could have the balls to take on 2 robbers all by my lonesome. Get it Kev!!

And finally...my favorite of all time.
The Polar Express

Growing up, we used to read The Polar Express before bed every single Christmas Eve. We would read through it once and then listen to the guy talking on the tape. It was so cool and a tradition I hope to continue with my children. Last year, Mike got The Polar Express in 3D for me. I can't wait to watch it in the theater this year!!!

Now it's your turn!! Go link up for Christmas is in the Air!!

My Stocking Wish List!!

Chelsee and Christine are doing a linkup over the next month and it's all Christmas related!!! And...today's is perfect timing because the theme is WISH LIST!! I have been wanting to tell my mom...errrr I mean Santa...what to get me for my stocking this year but it's so hard without her seeing a picture. I have my Pinterest board for my actual Christmas list but these things are so little and silly I didn't want anyone to get mixed up with the things I REALLY want. lol. So I figured I would put it on here!!! Selfish?? Nope. Resourceful!!

So, bear with me on the specifics, they're for my mom. HI MOMMY!!!

So here it is....
my Stocking Stuffer Wish List!!

1. Socks!! - Everyone can always use some new socks. And I love the fuzzy kind, too!! My problem is that every time I wear my boots, it puts holes in the big toe of my socks. Don't know why. My toenails are cut. Maybe it's just my big big toe. lol.

2. Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara (waterproof, color: very black) - I love, love, love this. And, it's appropriate that I'm talking about it on Chelsee's linkup because she's the one who introduced it to me. I love it because it doesn't clump. And I have long eyelashes, so that's usually a problem.

3. NYC Pencil Eyeliner (waterproof, color: black) - Yup, cheap arsh NYC eyeliner. It's my fav. It's one of the only ones that I can use the right way. I used to have the crayon one but then it was always too thin. I love this one. Try it!! You won't be disappointed!!

4. Excedrine Migraine - This is the only thing that kills my migraines. Literally nothing else works. So, I love to keep it on hand.

5. Rimmel London Natural Bronzer (color: Sun Bronze) - Another cheap makup. Can you tell I don't really care about makeup. I have never, and (unless I win a $165 gift card to Ulta or Sephora) never will but any expensive makeup. Why? because I don't know how to use it right. haha. I'm a makeup loser. I've pretty much been doing the same thing for the last 10 years. And last time I had someone do my makeup I hated it!!

6. Amazon Kindle Gift Card - I mean who couldn't use one of these? With Book Club and all the other awesome books out there I want to read I'd love this!!

7. Black Statement Necklace - This one is from Target and I love!!! It's the one thing I actually did put on the Christmas List board because I love it and I want it. I have a few other statement necklaces but no black one.

8. Bed Head Extreme Straight Shampoo and Conditioner - OK, so I'll confess. This can be kinda expensive and maybe doesn't need to be under Stocking Stuffers. But, really, I can use any shampoo and conditioner. Make it the moisture kind or straight kind, though.

9. Boot Slippers - I love boot slippers. I prefer the kind with the rubber bottom because I wear them outside, but I guess I can wear my old ones if need be. But I definitely need a new pair. My old ones are horrid!!

So there it is!! My Christmas Wish List. Head on over and check out the linkup!! Next week is holiday movies!!

Weekend Shenanigans!! (and a Giveaway)

First off, don't forget about the $165 giveaway to either Sephora or Ulta going on at Southern Beauty Guide's blog. It's such an amazing giveaway and we all could always use some awesome new face paint!!

Now on to the Weekend Shenanigans!!! It seems like my weekend was pretty eventful but it certainly didn't feel that way. I guess we did get a lot in!!

1. This weekend was my nephews birthday party. You can see Uncle Mike gets into the spirit. He's the favorite. Drives me nuts!!

2. This is how Logan reacts every time he gets attention. He hates it. Not sure where he gets it from. We're all pretty much attention hogs. But he cried the entire time we sang "Happy Birthday".

3. I finally got to meet this little man. He was so good and just wanted to sit and watch everything that was going on. The party hat was just as big as he was.

4. Later that night I went out with the besties. It was funny seeing B again because we had just gone to VA to see her last weekend. lol. Hey I'll take all the time I can get. She deploys again in February and I won't see her until October!!

5. I also ran into this long lost love. Jay and I went to school together from the 3rd grade all the way through high school. I haven't gotten to hang out with him in years and it was so cool bringing back memories and funnies throughout the years.

6. Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!!

7. Mike and I wanted the tallest tree we could get with our 9 ft ceilings. We finally found the perfect tree that both of us agreed on. So excited to decorate!!

8. Here is me doing the honors. Nice view, huh??

Photo Wall Decor

I made this post a few months ago where we personalized some frames with our last name. I had another frame laying around in the basement so I decided to print some photos and hang it. After cleaning off all the dirt and dust I got to work finding the letters I thought would work.

I had decided to use the word "Noel" since I didn't feel like thinking too long about any other Christmas-y four letter words and used the same site as in my previous post. I narrowed it down to these four letters since they had Christmas colors in them.

After uploading them to my Walgreens account and picking them up, all I had to do was put them in the frame and I was done. Easiest project EVER!!!
