Yay or nay?!?
I felt like the other one was too big or something. I don't know. I'll probably change this one in like a month, too.
My mom still tells the stories of how I would change around my room every month and they never knew where I was going to be sleeping when they came in to kiss me goodnight.
I guess I like change???

Thirsty Thursday Linkup Party #2
3 cups Chi Chi's premade Margarita mix
2 packets Sweet and Low (optional)
about 1 1/2 cups sweetened strawberries
2 shots of vodka
fill the blender with ice
Optional: a few frozen strawberries
Blend all ingredients together until smooth. If your blender has a liquify button, that seems to be the best option to get the chunks out.
Enjoy!!

Workout Wednesday!!
First off, don't forget about the Thirsty Thursday Linkup Party tomorrow!!! Grab a button from my sidebar and post your favorite beer, wine, or cocktail!!
I'm going to kind of cheat a little for workout Wednesday and talk about an accomplishment I made yesterday.
So here's a confession....the only running I do is on the elliptical.
My whole life I have sucked at true running. I played softball when I was younger, and then again on a beer league when I was like 21. Everyone called me "Forrest". "Run Forrest, Run!!"
Here's the deal...I have really long legs. Like 95% of my body is legs. I even had a few friends in high school who called me "Leggs". 2 "g's". like 2 legs?? yeah...I'm pretty sure they might have forgotten my real name. So...when I run, it almost looks like I'm running in slow motion. It takes so long for my legs to catch up with the rest of my body. You would think I would make big strides, but I really don't. Not sure what the dilly is??
Anyway, I've always cheated at running. When I was a cheerleader yup, I know we had to run laps before practice. I don't think I made it halfway around the .25 mile track before collapsing. Then, I would walk/jog (like when it looks like you're jogging but you're really just walking. Kinda like marching in place) to make it look like I was running the rest of the way. And truth...I was captain so they couldn't really yell at me. I know, I know...cheerleading captain. I promise I wasn't like thooooose girls.
So, anyway...like I said...the only running I have done in years is on the elliptical. I like to think I can run pretty well on there. We usually run about 3.5+ miles in 35 minutes. We can even keep a steady pace of about 7.4 mph while we talk!! Which I think is a pretty good accomplishment.
The past few weeks, however, I have been wanting to push myself and run outside. My ultimate goal is to run a 5k.....someday....and that's a BIG someday...
Yesterday, I asked my workout partner, Taylor, if she wanted to run outside. My town just finished a beautiful running path that took the place of an old railroad track through the town.

I told her I wanted to start slow and we agreed upon a destination. About 1/8th of a mile into the run I was ready to quit. My pants were falling down, I was having a hard time breathing, my shins hurt...but then I turned a corner and saw our destination in the distance. And...I knew I could make it.
It was hard. Real hard!! twss
But I did it!!
It probably was only about 1/4 of a mile. Taylor thinks it might have been more. But I didn't really care. All it meant to me was that I pushed myself and did it. AND....I know I can continue to try and I can only get better!!
So there's my Workout Wednesday for you!! I think I'm back on that wagon!!

Is it over yet?!?
School that is...
Truthfully, the kids are done and I am done. It's getting harder and harder to wake up every morning. Especially with this lovely face beside me...
Actually he works nights which I want to make a post about some time soon so we hardly ever get to spend the night together. Well, "hardly ever" means 15 nights a month if he doesn't have to cover someone else's shift.
But anywhoooo....school...
For those new followers I'm a Technology teacher for kids grades K-5. I get to see each class for 45 minutes a week. I know...jealous?? I spent my time in the regular education classroom so I know what that is like, too. Actually, the challenges are still as frequent, just totally different.
In the regular ed class I had to deal with the same fewpain in the ass challenging kids all day every day. With this job, we deal with EVERY pain in the ass challenging kid in the school. Regular ed we had to cram our entire day into one planning session. Specialists often just miss their planning altogether. We are also left out of the loop with EVERYTHING that is going on in the school. We usually find out last minute about the assemblies and field trips and then we miss that class for the week. Which actually sucks because it throws off our schedule and we only see each class 25ish times a year.
...OK rant done...
Anyway. I'm pretty sure the kids expect to play games for the rest of the year because it's almost over and I only get to see them like 2 more times. They literally ask me constantly..."Can we play games?". To which I respond..."Did I tell you you could play games?" and they give me puppy dog eyes and shake their head. Then, I feel bad. Little tricksters...
AND....I just remembered I have to take this down for the summer....

I fell off the wagon and got run over....
I skipped 4 days last week!!! And probably 4 days the week before. And then about a week and a half before that.
AAAAnnnndddd....I have been eating like shnit. I have always tried to keep my portions small but the food still hasn't been great. We have our days here and there where I make something healthy, however....here and there isn't going to cut it.
BUT......I'm getting back on that damn wagon!! So slow down and someone catch me!! I am seriously determined.
This weekend a few people told me I looked really good. I'm a little confused because in the last 5 months I have literally lost a total of 6 pounds. I think, however, those compliments were all I really needed in order to realize I can't stop now!!
So...I might need your help!! When you think about me, just head on over and leave me a comment asking me if I'm going to the gym tonight. OR since Hopelessly Ever After has a FACEBOOK PAGE NOW!!!! you could head on over there and hit me up.
Believe me, I'll feel guilty if I have to tell you no. Please, please please!!! I need your help!!
I'll leave you with a

P.S. Happy Mother's Day to all those wonderful moms out there!! My mom is an awesome woman and I wouldn't change her for anything!! I also get along AMAZINGLY with my MIL and she is another amazing woman. So happy to have both of them in my life!
Mike and I had our mom's over for lunch this afternoon. I always love it when our moms get together. It's so interesting to me to see the interactions between them. They are two completely different women but finding things in common to talk about is never difficult for them.

Mom and I at my wedding.
Mike's mom and I. She hates her picture taken and always gets mad when I post pics of her on the internet. So, I figure with this one you can't see her face. lol.
